Description
Device Concept and Operation
NEAFS TEO-X is a heat-based device designed for use with pre-formed sticks instead of e-liquid. The system releases aerosol through controlled heating rather than combustion, avoiding ash and open burning.
It is built around a session-based format, where each use has a defined duration rather than continuous inhalation.
Heating Method and Session Timing
The device heats the inserted stick to approximately 350°C, which is below combustion level. This allows flavour and optional nicotine to be released without burning the material.
Each session runs for about 5–6 minutes or around 15 puffs, depending on how the device is used. Once the session ends, a new stick is required.
Why This Format Is Used
- Fixed Session Length: Each stick delivers a defined time window instead of open-ended use.
- No Liquid Handling: There is no refilling or contact with e-liquid.
- Lower Residual Output: The aerosol does not behave like smoke and does not linger in the same way.
- Reduced Maintenance: No coils or tanks to replace during normal use.
System Comparison

| Output Type | Heated aerosol | Vapour |
Use Case in Ireland
This type of device is typically used by people who prefer a defined usage cycle instead of continuous vaping. The fixed session duration can help structure intake during work, commuting or daily routines.
Regulatory Context
Heat-based systems operate separately from standard e-liquid devices. Their classification may evolve alongside EU regulatory developments, including TPD3 discussions.
Intended for adult users (18+) only.
