Sanus per aquam, or health through water - these are care and relaxation treatments that support health and beauty. In recent years, many spa centers have been created, offering such treatments, thanks to which you can break away from everyday stress and spend your free time pleasantly, and at the same time take care of your body. But if you don't have the time or money to take advantage of this offer, you can arrange your own private mini-spa in your own bathroom.
How to make a relaxing bath?
Try to create an atmosphere that will help you relax and get away from everyday life - light a fragrant candle, turn on your favorite music. But most of all, organize your home life in such a way that you can devote an hour or two to yourself without rushing.
The smell is very important because it strongly affects the senses, so choose a fragrant bath additive carefully - fruit aromas usually stimulate, lavender, vanilla, ylang-ylang or sweet floral notes soothe and relax. Add salt rich in natural minerals to the water. In a warm, salty bath, tense, aching muscles will relax, pores will widen and the skin will be cleansed of accumulated toxins more easily, and it will absorb nourishing minerals. Salt will also help get rid of puffiness and facilitate the fight against cellulite.
First massage the body with cosmetic oil - the massage will warm up the skin and when you immerse yourself in the water, the ingredients of the oil will more easily penetrate through the enlarged pores into the deeper layers of the epidermis.
Body and face peeling should be an introduction to all beauty treatments. Properly selected peeling preparations will remove the old, calloused epidermis, so the cosmetics used afterwards will be able to work more effectively. During the bath, it is the perfect moment to put the mask on your face - the skin, which is puffed under the influence of heat, will better absorb the valuable active ingredients, which are much more in such a cosmetic than in a regular cream. Choose a mask that will help solve your skin problems - dryness, dilated capillaries, seborrhea or a tendency to blackheads.
Spread the cosmetic not only on the face - avoiding the delicate area of the eyes and mouth - but also around the neck and décolleté. A nourishing mask will also be useful for hair. Apply the cosmetic to damp strands and cover your head with a foil cap - the hair cuticles will open in the heat, thanks to which the active ingredients of the mask will penetrate more easily. Remember to rinse off the cosmetic and then pour cool water over your head. Then the hair cuticles will close and the nutrients will be kept inside.

How to make a brew?
It is prepared from dried leaves and flowers of selected plants (available at herbal shops and pharmacies). The infusion can be prepared in two ways.
Pour 250 - 500 grams of the herbal mixture into a linen or linen bag, pour about 2-3 liters of boiling water and leave covered for about 20 minutes. Before pouring it into a bathtub with warm water, drain the infusion.
You can also immerse the bag with the herbal mixture directly in the tub - first half full with hot water, then topped up to the correct temperature.
How to make a decoction?
It is prepared from the hard parts of herbs such as bark, roots, and seeds. Pour cold water over the recommended amount of herbal mixture and heat, covered, for about 20-30 minutes. It is often recommended not to let the mixture boil. Before pouring it into the bathtub, strain the decoction.
How to make herbal extract?
Pour the herbal mixture with cold water, cover and set aside for 12 hours. After this time, heat the macerate, strain it and pour it into the tub.
What care after bathing?
A relaxing bath should have a temperature close to the body temperature - approx. 37 ° C and last no more than half an hour, because long lounging in the water dries the skin and causes maceration of the epidermis. Therefore, after leaving the bathtub and drying your body, immediately reach for a lotion or oil - spread it on the skin and leave it to be absorbed. Such cosmetics rebuild the protective lipid coat of the skin and retain moisture in the epidermis. It is also a good time to fight cellulite or stretch marks. Brush your face and neck with a nourishing cream and massage it in gently - you will revitalize the skin's circulation, improve its color, facilitate lymphatic drainage and remove puffiness.
After the end of the care rituals, do not throw yourself into the whirlwind of home duties immediately, postpone pleasant relaxation - drink a cup of green tea, wrap yourself in a bathrobe and lie down for a short nap.
